“Abdul Maliki” became golden; 18 Iranian hair medals in the world arena


According to IRNA, on Saturday, the last day of the Muaythai World Championships in Abu Dhabi, the final fights of different weights of the adult age category were held. Heavy and breathtaking, he won 28-29 to deservedly win the gold medal in this weight category.

Abdul Maliki had defeated opponents from Turkmenistan, Australia, the United States and Sweden to reach the final.

In the other final match today, in the 54-kg weight category, Yaser Parmehr, who had previously defeated members of Iraq and Turkey, had a difficult and marginal fight with “Ali Serik”, which in the end, despite the obvious superiority of the Khuzestani athlete. Our country, in complete disbelief and with a result of 28 to 29 hands of the Kazakh opponent, rose as the victor so that Iran would be deprived of an indisputable gold medal. This competition was accompanied by a strong protest from the technical staff and players of our country.

Finally, in the women’s 75+ kg weight category, Samira Fathi won a silver medal and the runner-up title after a round of fighting against accepting defeat against Lucia Biloberk from Croatia.

In the final standings of this competition and in a total of two sections for men and women, Thailand won with 8 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze medals. The host, the UAE, finished runner-up with 5 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals, while Morocco came in third with 5 gold, 2 silver and 6 bronze medals. Teams from Turkey, Sweden, Croatia and Malaysia finished fourth to seventh respectively.

Our team also won 10 gold, 4 silver and 12 bronze medals, higher than teams such as France, Egypt and the United States, in tenth place in the standings.

For our country in these competitions, Masoud Abdolmaleki and Fatemeh Hosseini two gold medals, Yaser Parmehr, Mehrdad Khanzadeh, Saba Chenari and Samira Fathi, four silver medals and Behnam Safari, Saber Saeedi, Hamidreza Kordabadi, Alireza Zeinali, Parvaneh Mahmoudi, Faezeh Afzali, Tarnam Ahmadi, Mobina Mirzapour, Neda Kowsari, Sima Niknam, Armita Soleimani and Reyhaneh Saeedi won 12 bronze medals.

It is worth mentioning that Fatemeh Hosseini Gold Medal is the first medal in the history of our country’s women’s Muay Thai in Class A of world competitions.

Fatemeh Hosseini was awarded the Gold Medal by Hossein Heydari, Iran’s Ambassador to the UAE, and Yaser Parmehr was awarded the Silver Medal by Javad Nasiri, President of the Non-Governmental Muaythai Federation of Iran, IFMA Board Member and Vice President of the Asian Muay Thai Federation.
