Emphasizing that looking to the East does not mean leaving the West behind and that we certainly do not want to tie the country to Russia and China, the Iranian Foreign Minister said: “We will advance the Vienna talks and the revival of the UN Security Council by relying on collective wisdom.”
According to Sputnik, quoting ISNA, the Iranian Foreign Minister said regarding his country’s foreign policy: “We use the key words for the foreign policy of the 13th government, balanced foreign policy under active, dynamic and intelligent diplomacy.”
“Looking at our neighbors and looking at Asia and interacting with the countries of this region is our first priority in the field of foreign policy,” he said. “Looking at Asia does not mean not paying attention to other regions, including the West.”
He added: “Looking to the east does not mean leaving the West, but Westerners should know and we have also explicitly told Westerners that we are in the same area with China, Russia and India and are in the geography of Asia and you because of politics. The pursuit of the United States and the non-fulfillment of your obligations to Iran, you are losing day by day and you are moving away from investment programs and interaction with Iran in various commercial and economic fields. We have told them that in any case, Iran will not remain closed-minded and will decide in its own interests and move forward.
The Iranian Foreign Minister continued by stating that a balanced foreign policy means pursuing active foreign policy and dynamic diplomacy in interaction with the East and the West: “We certainly do not want to tie the country to Russia and China, but in the direction of We pursue and regulate the interests of both sides of foreign policy, and no matter how much China, Russia, India or any other country in the world has ideas and initiatives in the common interests of both sides, and we feel that our interests are served at a very good level. We certainly welcome these ideas, and there must be opportunities for all countries on different continents and regions, whether in Latin America, Africa and the West, or any other area that may be.
