Charso Press: It can be said that “Private Meeting” is one of the least popular movies of the last decade of Iranian cinema. A film that tried to narrate “love” on the basis of social issues.

“Private Meeting” at the 40th Fajr Festival, despite the fact that compared to other films of the festival, it managed to attract a larger number of critics as well as the general cinema audience, but it suffered the first blow from the very beginning and suffered the same fate as many other films. “Private Encounters” showed that in the midst of the years when the desire and desire of the producers is to produce films that are formed on the basis of social injuries and life and relationships between the lower classes of the society, romantic themes still have their own special function and are able to almost to accompany the audience with the film for 100 minutes.

In this film, Omid Shams narrates the story of the life of a family that belongs to the lower classes of society and lives in an inflamed neighborhood and lives in the neighborhood of criminals and evil people. The romantic narrative of the film is also formed in this region. Without wasting any time, the drama starts right after the love story is formed and expands the information of the story with a smooth distribution and widens the net of its romantic narrative. This drip distribution of information and timely suspensions causes the audience to engage with the characters and follow the story, although perhaps because of this, the first 20 minutes of the film, as well as the end, seem a bit long and drawn out.

However, “Private Meeting” was a film that would have had a great chance of success if it had been allowed to be seen in the festival and if it had been released at a suitable time and far from the events of today’s society. As the first production of Omid Shams, this film received an acceptable score from cinematographers last year, and it is hoped that the audience will also support the efforts of its actors by welcoming this film.
