About the movie “Private Encounter”/ a romance that suffered from low popularity

“Private Encounters” showed that in the midst of the years when the desire and desire of the producers is to produce films that are formed on the basis of social injuries and life and relationships between the lower classes of the society, romantic themes still have their own special function and are able to almost to accompany the audience with the film for 100 minutes.

Charso Press: It can be said that “Private Meeting” is one of the least popular movies of the last decade of Iranian cinema. A film that tried to narrate “love” on the basis of social issues.

“Private Meeting” at the 40th Fajr Festival, despite the fact that compared to other films of the festival, it managed to attract a larger number of critics as well as the general cinema audience, but it suffered the first blow from the very beginning and suffered the same fate as many other films. They have encountered it during these years; An example of what happened to Reza Darmishian’s “I’m not angry” and the story behind the scenes and the political language of the film caused it to be removed from all parts of the festival, and according to Navid Mohammadzadeh, “his suit will be ironed and left on Jalbasi” and Simorgh is the best The male lead actor should not sit on his shoulders.

This time, “Private Encounters” was caught in this rejection, and although the film had attracted the opinion of most of the audience, it failed in the competitive arena of the festival and was abandoned.

On the other hand, it was released after the Nowruz and Eid al-Fitr screenings, and now it was released in different circumstances where cinemas are not always booming and the film has also lost the chance of extensive media advertising, and perhaps that is why it is necessary to write about it.

“Private Encounters” showed that in the midst of the years when the desire and desire of the producers is to produce films that are formed on the basis of social injuries and life and relationships between the lower classes of the society, romantic themes still have their own special function and are able to almost to accompany the audience with the film for 100 minutes.

In this film, Omid Shams narrates the story of the life of a family that belongs to the lower classes of society and lives in an inflamed neighborhood and lives in the neighborhood of criminals and evil people. The romantic narrative of the film is also formed in this region. Iman, the brother of Parvaneh, the daughter of the director of the film, who once made a name for himself in the Iron Man tournament, has now become a fugitive hero because of debt, and their father is also in prison.

The main story of the film takes place in the two locations of “Zindan” and “South of the city” in Tehran, while unlike other films, neither the prison is inflamed nor disturbing, nor, of course, the neighborhoods in the south of the city are anonymous.

Without wasting any time, the drama starts right after the love story is formed and expands the information of the story with a smooth distribution and widens the net of its romantic narrative. This drip distribution of information and timely suspensions causes the audience to engage with the characters and follow the story, although perhaps because of this, the first 20 minutes of the film, as well as the end, seem a bit long and drawn out.

However, “Private Meeting” was a film that would have had a great chance of success if it had been allowed to be seen in the festival and if it had been released at a suitable time and far from the events of today’s society. As the first production of Omid Shams, this film received an acceptable score from cinematographers last year, and it is hoped that the audience will also support the efforts of its actors by welcoming this film.
