Acer unveiled the new Nitro 17 gaming laptop with GeForce RTX 40 series graphics processors


Acer’s 17-inch Nitro laptop debuted last year in both Intel and AMD variants. This year, Acer at CES 2024, Refresh Nitro 17 with Intel Raptor Lake-HX options Updated, with no word on possible AMD Ryzen Zen 4 SKUs.

Specifications of Acer Nitro 17 gaming laptop

Nitro 17 (AN17-72) can be configured with Intel Raptor Lake-HX Refresh options including Core i5-14450HX, Core i7-14650HX and Core i7-14700HX along with GPU options up to Nvidia GeForce RTX4 Laptop. Acer has enabled Advanced Optimus, which reduces the need to reboot the laptop while switching between MSHybrid and dGPU modes. Up to 32 GB DDR5-5600 RAM and up to 2 TB NVMe SSD can be installed in RAID 0.

Acer said the Nitro 17 has an intake system consisting of four dual fans and a quad exhaust system, vector heat pipes and liquid metal thermal interface material on the CPU to minimize throttling.

This year’s Nitro 17 features a 17.3-inch QHD 165Hz display. This panel covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space and offers a response time of 3 milliseconds. Port selection is the same as before and networking is a combination of Killer E3100G Ethernet and Killer Wi-Fi 6E with DoubleShot Pro.

The webcam is still a 720p sensor, but Acer offers PurifiedView; An AI-powered solution to assist with automatic framing, eye contact and background blur with a three-microphone array powered by PureVoice. 4-zone RGB keyboard and 90 WHr battery are among its other features.

Acer’s new laptop (AN17-72) will be available in January for $1,249.99.
