Activation of 9 mines in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari
Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Industries of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Industry, Mining and Trade Organization said: This year, seven abandoned mines in the province were added to the active mines of the province by applying Article 20 of the Mining Law and 2 mines with the issuance of new exploitation licenses.
According to Shata, Mehrdad Ghasemi said: “According to this, out of 154 exploitation licenses issued in the province’s mines, 112 mines have been activated and entered the production cycle.”
Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Industries of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Industry, Mining and Trade Organization, referring to the decrease in inactive mines in the province this year, added: “Last year, 41% of exploitation licenses were inactive, but this amount has decreased to 21% this year.”
Referring to the extraction of eight minerals in the province, he explained: This year, 3,874 tons of minerals have been extracted in the province, which has increased compared to the same period last year, which was three million tons.
Ghasemi said: with the activation of new mines in the province during the current year, a total of 997 people have been employed in this sector, while in the same period last year, 897 people were working in the mines of the province.
He mentioned conducting additional exploratory studies in order to identify mineral potentials as another policy of this deputy and said: “This year, licenses have been issued for exploration in five mineral areas of the province.”
Ghasemi added: “Providing a platform for investment in the mining sector, providing raw materials such as steel for other industries and providing infrastructure for mining activities are other general policies of this deputy.”
Eight types of minerals including extractive building stone, cement raw materials, gypsum, sand and silica, refractory soil and dolomite are extracted from Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari mines.
