Adam Sandler receives an award from the Gotham Festival / Tribute to the actor
Adam Sandler receives the Actor Tribute Award at the 2022 Gotham Awards.
Charso Press: Adam Sandler will receive the Best Actor award at the 32nd Gotham Awards on November 28 in New York. It was previously announced that Michelle Williams, who starred in Steven Spielberg’s “The Fablemen,” will also be honored at this year’s Gotham Awards as Best Actress.
“Adam Sandler’s spectacular performances in some of the most popular films of the last three decades are an inspiration to the community of filmmakers we represent at Gotham,” said Jeffrey Sharp, executive director of the Gotham Film and Media Institute, in honoring Adam Sandler.
Referring to Adam Sandler’s power in creating special characters, telling jokes or singing songs, he said: We love them all and Sandler is an actor who has brought immense joy to audiences around the world.
Sandler has received two Gotham Best Actor nominations for Noah Bambuck’s The Meyerowitz Stories in 2017 and The Safdie Brothers’ Uncut Gems in 2019.
The actor rose to fame with NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” and quickly became one of the most popular actors at the box office.
In 2002, he won a Golden Globe nomination with “Troubled Love” by Paul Thomas Anderson, and won the best actor award from the National Board of Critics for his role in the crime thriller “Uncut Jewels”.
The 56-year-old Sandler has another chance to be featured in acting awards this year, playing the role of a professional basketball player in the movie “The Impostor”.
