Afghan artists living in Iran give concerts / Herat Nightingale combines Iranian lyric with Herati song


According to Fars News Agency’s music correspondent, the Najmuddin Qawali Ensemble, sung by Asef Habibi, Javad Tabesh and Abdul Qader Azizi, who have started their activities in recent months in the presence of a number of Afghan artists living in Iran, on Thursday the 26th and Friday the 20th. And on the 7th of Esfand, they will hold concerts in the Andisheh Hall of the Arts Center at 7:00 PM.

Asif Habibi is known in Afghanistan as the “Herat Nightingale”. Najmuddin Qawali Ensemble also performed at the 37th Fajr Music Festival in Iran.

Javad Tabesh is also a well-known student of Altaf Hossein Qaval in the world of music. Abdul Qader Azizi is also known as one of the artists who collaborates in the form of Qawali Religion.

Najmuddin Qawali Group is trying to gain a new experience by combining the texts of ritual poems of contemporary Iranian poets with Herati songs, so that the issue of expanding the language and literature of contemporary Persian can be considered by the audience.

Qawali is a genre associated with mystical music that is popular in India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. According to written sources, qawwali music was first performed in Sufi shrines and was an important part of the Samaa ceremony, and in a definite process became the religious and mystical music of East Asia.
