AFP: The agency will not issue a reprimand resolution against Iran

According to the report of the international group of Fars news agency, a western media, quoting diplomatic sources, claimed that the International Atomic Energy Agency will refuse to issue a reprimanding resolution against Iran at the meeting of the board of governors of this international organization.

The French news agency reported this news, quoting diplomatic sources, and wrote that this development happened after “Rafael Grossi”, the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, received assurances that cameras would be reinstalled in several Iranian nuclear sites.

Grossi returned to Vienna on Saturday from a two-day trip from Tehran.

Western diplomats told AFP on the first day of the meeting of the International Agency’s Board of Governors in Vienna, the capital of Austria, that no critical resolution against Iran is on the agenda.

A Western diplomat claimed: “But it is still unclear whether the items agreed in Tehran will lead to real progress or not.”

Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said in a press conference after the meeting of the IAEA Governing Council that the technical team of this agency will travel to Tehran soon.

Grossi said that regarding the implementation of the comprehensive safeguard agreement regarding Fordow, before his recent trip to Tehran, there was an agreement on a number of items that had to be confirmed.

In response to a question about whether Iran has committed to allow the re-installation of all surveillance equipment that was installed under the JCPOA, including online monitoring, and whether it will provide the data of the surveillance equipment, he said, “You may have noticed that in the joint statement “There are certain conditions that need to be agreed, and that’s important because we never expect this process or regulatory capacity to be cut, as it has been, so we need to have a conversation about that and how to do it.”

He added: We have comments and this is a part of the technical discussions that will be followed up after my trip and the joint statement, and the technical team will soon travel to Tehran for this purpose.

Regarding safeguards research, he said that “as I said before, moving towards concrete results is intended” and added: “Firstly, this is possible as part of normal implementation.” [توافقات] A safeguard between a country and an agency that is not only related to Iran should be confidential.
