Bollywood star Akshay Kumar missed the red carpet at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival after passing a coronation test.
Theater News Base: Bollywood actress Akshay Kumar will not be able to attend the red carpet at this year’s Cannes Film Festival for the second time with a Covid-19 test. He was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai exactly last year after suffering from coronary heart disease. Last year, 45 members of his new film crew, Ram Sito, also contracted coronary heart disease.
Kumar, who was scheduled to attend this year’s Cannes Film Festival alongside Indian cinema figures such as Puja Hedge, IAR Rahman, Kapoor Hunting and Indian Information and Press Minister Arnurang Thakur, has been forced to withdraw.
“I was really excited to be at the Indian pavilion in Cannes, but unfortunately my Quidd test has been positive,” he wrote in response to the news of his Quid status on social media. This also passes.
The actors of his new film were to go on the red carpet at the opening of the 75th Cannes Film Festival, which will be held on May 17. Famous Indian folk singer Mama Khan and actors such as Nawaz al-Din Siddiqui, Nayantara, Tamanna Bhatia, Vanny Tripati and composer Ricky Kaj are the two Grammy Awards winners of the Indian group present at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
India will be honored this year at the Cannes Film Market, which runs from May 17 to 25.
Meanwhile, the release of the historical drama “Previraj”, in which Akshay Kumar will star alongside Sanjay Dutt, Sono Sood and Manoushi Chilar, and directed by Chandraprakash Davidi, made in cinemas, will start on June 3.
Ram Sito, an action-adventure film about the origins of India’s historical heritage, directed by Abhishek Sharma, is set to be released in India on October 24 and in 240 countries via Amazon. This is the first film made in collaboration with Amazon India.
The 75th Cannes Film Festival starts tomorrow, Tuesday, May 17, and will continue until Saturday, May 28, 2022.
