Al-Houthi: Any progress in the negotiations depends on Riyadh’s practical actions

According to Fars News Agency’s International Group, “Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi”, a member of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, said today (Friday) that the Saudi-American front should make progress in the negotiations with practical measures.

He told Al-Masirah that the Sana’a government does not attach any importance to dialogues and consultations that are not accompanied by Saudi Arabia’s practical steps in the humanitarian field. Al-Houthi considered humanitarian demands to be the priority of the Yemeni people in these negotiations.

Another member of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, “Sultan Al-Sami,” also told Al-Masira that the negotiating team and all parties interacting with the Saudi coalition should keep in mind the previous negotiations and their results.

The second round of negotiations between Riyadh and Sana’a is supposed to resume after Eid al-Fitr. The first round of negotiations took place on 21 April with the visit of Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Yemen, Muhammad Al-Jaber, to Sana’a, a trip that was unprecedented since the beginning of the Yemeni war, and the parties agreed to release 900 prisoners from both sides to show their goodwill. .

Yesterday, the National Committee for Prisoners Affairs of Yemen announced that in line with the execution of the order of Abdul Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, the leader of the Yemeni revolution, it has released 77 prisoners of the Saudi coalition, which includes dozens of sick and elderly people.
