Al-Jazeera: 28 killed by Ethiopian army bombing

A spokesman for the Tiger Liberation Front said on Thursday that 28 people had been killed and 76 others wounded in an Ethiopian army bombing of a market in the town of Alamata, according to Al Jazeera.
No further details have been announced.
The conflict in Tigray, which began in November 2020, has resumed since last June. Abi Ahmad, meanwhile, sent troops to the Tigray region to overthrow the front, which is in charge of affairs in the region.
The forces of the old Oromo insurgent movement, allied with the Tiger rebels, are advancing on Addis Ababa and together intend to overthrow the government and seize the capital.
Addis Ababa, the capital of Africa’s second largest country, is the regional diplomatic center in terms of population, and is home to the African Union and the United Nations High Commissioner for Economic Cooperation in Africa.
Addis Ababa is also a hub for passenger airlines to transport passengers to Africa, North America, Asia and the Middle East.
