Alder Lake HX laptop processors introduced – up to 16 cores for best performance

High-end Alder Lake HX laptop processors by the company Intel Were introduced and provide users with up to 16 cores of 24 strings. The blue team in Intel Vision 2022 unveiled its new twelfth generation mobile series, which is actually the same desktop silicon in the mobile package, but with the necessary changes.
In this series, the number of cores, thermal power and the number of PCIe lines have increased, and we even see the activation of PCI Express Gen 5.0 in this family. In addition, up to 48 PCIe lines are available in Gen 5.0 x16 + Gen 4.0 x20 + Gen 3.0 x12, which is more than the Alder Lake H with Gen 4.0 x16 + Gen 3.0 x12.
Alder Lake HX laptop processors introduced
As mentioned, Alder Lake full desktop silicone is used in the BGA package. One of the slides confirms that the BGA package has the same dimensions as the desktop LGA (45 × 37.5 mm) and the only difference in height will be reduced from 4.4 mm to 2.0 mm.
Alder Lake HX of course supports overclocking. There is also support for DDR5 memory with XMP 3.0 profiles along with a new feature called Dynamic Memory Boost. Overclocked cores, Speed Optimizer and updated Extreme Tuning Utility are also included. Intel has announced that all models in this series can be overclocked.
Main specifications of Alder Lake HX series

- Access PCIe Gen 5.0 x16 via processor and four PCIe Gen 4.0 x4 via chipset for more bandwidth and faster data transfer
- The first series of fully open and overclockable coefficient of mobile processors
- Supports 128 GB of DDR5 / LPDDR5 (up to 4800/5200 MHz) and DDR4 / LPDDR4 (up to 3200 and 4267 MHz) memory with ECC capability
- Designed with Intel Wi-Fi 6 / 6E (Gig +) 2 to improve connectivity and access to the new 6 GHz range
More than 10 different workstation and gaming laptops will be offered this year by major manufacturers such as Dell, HP, Lenovo and others.
