AMD Mendocino 6nm APUs – Zen 2 architecture and RDNA 2 graphics

Red Company Has a plan To launch AMD Mendocino 6nm APUs with both Zen 2 and RDNA 2 architectures in the fourth quarter of 2022 for mid-range laptops.

In fact, before we see the Ryzen 7000 series of laptops codenamed Draong Range and Phoenix with Zen 4 cores, the Red Team plans to release models with Zen 2 refresh cores that have 6nm technology. The interesting combination of Zen 2 and RDNA 2 graphics architecture will be revealed in the fourth season.

AMD Mendocino 6nm APUs

The AMD Mendocino series will feature up to four eight-core cores, which clearly indicates that it is not built for high-end systems. Instead, the system will be on-chip for low-power laptops that promise more than 10 hours of battery life.

AMD predicts that laptops based on the Mendocino architecture will be priced from 399 to 699. Such systems can be based on Windows operating system or even ChromeOS. Mendocino, as mentioned, uses Zen 2 cores with TSMC 6-nanometer manufacturing technology. Of course, we already saw the Steam Deck handheld APU codenamed Van Gogh, which had the same combination (Zen 2 / RDNA 2).
