America imposed new sanctions against Iran – Mehr news agency Iran and world’s news

According to Mehr news agency, citing Al Jazeera, the US Treasury Department imposed new sanctions against the Islamic Republic by making baseless claims.

The US Treasury Department claimed on Wednesday that 10 individuals and two Iranian companies were added to the country’s sanctions list due to cyber activities.

A statement from the US Treasury Department claims: Today, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned ten Iranian individuals and two entities for their role in malicious cyber activities, including ransomware activity.

The US Department of Treasury claimed that this action follows the series of previous actions of the Department of Foreign Assets Control of the Ministry of Treasury and aims to protect Americans from ransomware activities and other cyber crimes, and that the individuals and institutions under sanctions are all related to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
