America once again accused Iran of selling drones to Russia

According to the report of Fars International News Agency, “Vedant Patel”, the deputy spokesperson of the US Department of State, in a press conference on Friday, once again repeated the unproven claims about the sale of drones from Iran to Russia for use in the Ukraine war.

He said in this press conference: “Over the past months, we have spoken about Iran’s action in supplying Russia with drones in order for this country to use them against urban and energy infrastructures throughout Ukraine.”

The US official added: “This remains a matter of deep concern to us, and we have condemned the supply of such drones and are taking steps to support our Ukrainian partners so they can defend their territorial integrity and sovereignty.”

In recent months, Ukraine and its western allies have accused Iran of sending drones to Russia for use in the war in Ukraine.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, while emphasizing its neutrality in this war, has denied these claims. Despite this, the United States, while repeating its claims, has imposed several rounds of sanctions related to Iran’s drone program.

In the latest action in this regard, the US Treasury Department on Wednesday evening placed a person and 6 entities allegedly connected with Iran’s drone program on the sanctions list.

These sanctions are part of the so-called “maximum pressure” policy that has continued in the administration of US President Joe Biden as well as the administration of Donald Trump. It is considered to be the design center of this country’s economic war against countries that oppose Washington’s policies.
