American congressman: Kiev will not be able to take back the Crimean peninsula by force

According to the report of Fars International News Agency, “Adam Smith”, a prominent member of the Armed Forces Committee of the US House of Representatives, admitted yesterday on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference that the NATO ally in the battle in Eastern Europe is not able to easily step on the Crimean Peninsula again.
According to Politico, while Kiev says it is fighting to retake all the territory it has lost, Smith said, “I think there is a consensus that Ukraine is not going to take Crimea back militarily.”
This member of the US House of Representatives also said that at some point in time, the war in Ukraine will end on the basis of negotiations.
“The best-case scenario is some sort of one-Ukraine mechanism,” Smith added. “The real question is, can we get security guarantees for Ukraine?”
The member of the American House of Representatives spoke about the security guarantee for Ukraine, while NATO member countries ignored Moscow’s requests for security guarantees before the start of Russia’s special military operations in Ukraine.
Ukraine lost nearly 20 percent of its territory during the battles that began on March 5th of last year, and on the eve of the anniversary of this operation, some Western sources have claimed that the Russians may be planning a wider operation.
Moscow says it is ready to negotiate, but Volodymyr Zelensky’s government in Kiev insists on continuing the fight and receiving more aid from NATO.
