American senator: Biden shot down a $12 balloon with a $400,000 rocket

According to Fars International News Agency, an American senator ridiculed and joked about the actions of President Joe Biden’s administration in targeting a balloon, which is believed to belong to a recreational club.

Ted Cruz, a representative of the state of Texas in the US Senate, who is a member of the Republican Party, wrote on his Twitter account that Biden flew a $200 million fighter and targeted a $12 balloon with a $400,000 missile. It belongs to a recreational club.

He went on to quip that Biden’s move could create a “powerful deterrent” to high school students who want to make research balloons as a craft.

The Republican senator’s comments came after a recreation club in Illinois announced that the club’s balloon had disappeared while flying over the coast of Alaska. The club said that this happened on the same day that a Lockheed Martin fighter jet shot down an unidentified flying object.

Ted Cruz wrote on Twitter: “To be fair, Biden has used his powerful deterrent against any high school science club that might attack America.”

American media have reported that the balloon of this recreational club, whose flight was last reported on February 10 at an altitude of 38,910 feet, was probably one of the three unidentified flying objects shot down by the US Air Force. One of these three flying objects fell over Alaska and the second over Canada. A third UFO crashed into Lake Huron.

In his speech last night, Joe Biden also confirmed that the three downed objects were not spy tools and may have been balloons owned by private companies.

The downing of these three flying objects took place a few days after the US announced that it had shot down a Chinese “spy balloon”. China has rejected the American claim that the balloon had a spying mission.
