Amir Abdollahian’s tweet following the assassination of Shinzo Abe

According to Fars news agency’s foreign policy group, Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian tweeted in Japanese today (Friday), July 17, following the assassination of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe: He condemned the assassination of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his death. My condolences to the nation and government of Japan.
He added: His valuable services as a prominent politician, including in the development of relations between the two nations of Iran and Japan, will not be forgotten.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Kanani, also condemned this terrorist act before noon today and said: As a country that is a victim of terrorism that has lost great leaders to terrorists, the news of the assassination of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is closely and with concern. We follow The Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns this terrorist act.
Shinzo Abe, the former prime minister of Japan, was shot and killed today during a speech in Nara city. Japan’s “NHK” channel announced that the person who shot Shinzo Abe has been arrested.
Abe served two terms, from 2006 to 2007 as the Prime Minister of Japan and head of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and from 2012 to 2020. He had the longest tenure as Prime Minister in Japanese history. Abe also served as Chief Cabinet Minister under Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi from 2005 to 2006, and was briefly Leader of the Opposition in 2012.
