Amir Abdullahian congratulated his Lebanese counterpart on the formation of the Lebanese government

According to Fars News Agency’s Foreign Policy Group, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, congratulated the Lebanese Foreign Minister on the formation of a new Lebanese government.

The Foreign Minister called the formation of the Lebanese government an important step to overcome the problems and fulfill the aspirations of the resilient Lebanese nation and added: “The Islamic Republic of Iran believes in peace and stability in Lebanon in a democratic way and in the shadow of internal harmony and cohesion. Amir Abdullahian noted: “The Lebanese people, who along with the Lebanese resistance and army have brilliant achievements in resisting terrorism, occupation and takfiri movements, will be able to solve their country’s problems and therefore will move towards prosperity and progress.”

At the end of the message, the Foreign Minister stated: The Islamic Republic of Iran will always stand by the Lebanese people and government and, as in the past, declares its readiness for the comprehensive development of relations.

It is worth mentioning that Najib Mikati was appointed as the cabinet on August 25 by Michel Aoun. Lebanon has not had an official government since August last year, and Hassan Diab has been acting prime minister.

“Everyone is aware of the bad situation in Lebanon,” the new Lebanese prime minister said recently after the new cabinet was formed. “Lebanon is not in a good situation and there is no medicine … We must work together for the success of the cabinet and to prevent despair and despair.”
