An increase in Alzheimer’s disease due to this common disease

According to a recent study by McGill University in Canada, Helicobacter pylori, which is found in the stomach of two-thirds of the world’s population, can increase the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.

In this study, researchers analyzed the health information of more than four million people over 50 years of age in the United Kingdom between 1988 and 2019.

In these studies, they found that people who were infected with a common stomach infection called Helicobacter pylori had an 11% higher risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.

Infection caused by this bacterium can cause indigestion, inflammation of the stomach, stomach ulcer, and sometimes it can also cause stomach cancer. This bacteria can also damage the tissue of the stomach and the first part of the small intestine.

According to the data of the World Health Organization, currently more than 55 million people worldwide have dementia, more than 60% of whom live in poor and less developed countries.
