According to the economic reporter of Fars news agency, after the war in Ukraine, some media claimed that Russia has taken over the Iranian oil market. Now, after 9 months, we can verify this claim by referring to OPEC statistics.
According to the OPEC report, Iran’s oil production before the Ukraine war (February 24) in January and February 2022 was about 2.524 million barrels per day.
Also, according to OPEC’s latest annual report, the operational capacity of Iran’s refineries was 1,691,000 barrels. Thus, Iran’s crude oil export (excluding gas condensate) was 833,000 barrels per day.
According to the latest OPEC monthly report, Iran’s oil production in the 8 months after the Ukraine war was an average of 2.556 million barrels per day. It was 865 thousand barrels per day.
