An increase or decrease in the price of a car; Which scenario is realized?

In the meantime, experts put forward two different opinions; A group believes that the price in the free market does not reflect the reality. The argument of this group is that due to the influx of speculative demand in the car market over the past three years and the creation of false and non-consumable demand, the prices have moved away from the equilibrium level; Therefore, if the car supply increases, the attractiveness of this market for investment will decrease, and as a result, on the one hand, the demand will decrease and on the other hand, the prices will decrease.

On the other hand, some experts accept the arguments of the first group, but they believe that the country’s inflationary conditions and the unclear future of the JCPOA are such that it cannot be expected that the current conditions will have a significant change, both on the supply side and on the demand side. The continuation of mandatory pricing and the gap of several tens of millions of factory and market prices will continue to send speculative demand to the car market. A look at the statistics of car sales applicants is proof of this; In the second stage of car sales in the integrated system and despite the various filters to reduce speculative demand, we may have registered more than 5 million people, which shows an increase of more than 60% compared to the first stage. Inflationary expectations will also lead to demand for cars as a capital good.

On the other hand, it is not reasonable to expect a dramatic change on the supply side. The car import regulation, which was supposed to be finalized in June, is still being debated in the government committee, and with the current process, if this regulation is finalized even today, we should not expect imported cars to arrive in the country until winter. However, due to the dollar price and the limited number of 100,000 devices, imports cannot control the thirst of the market. On the other hand, car manufacturers continue to produce at a loss, and in this situation, it seems unreasonable to expect a significant increase in production circulation. If we put this issue next to the sanctions and the restriction of the supply chain of auto parts, it shows that the increase in production circulation is more out of reach than in the past.

Peugeot 206 type 2 which experienced price fluctuations this week and finally reached 300 million tomans with a decrease of 1 million tomans compared to last week. Unlike last week, the 1400 model was unchanged this week and traded for 292 million tomans.

Type 5 of this car in full version cost 360 million tomans this week, same as last week.

Peugeot 207 gear with glass roof in model 1401, which had ended the transactions last week with a decrease of 1 million, this week was accompanied by a decrease of 1 million tomans and reached 407 million tomans.

This car in the gear version with a metal roof was accompanied by a price increase of 5 million tomans, and contrary to the decreasing trend last week, it reached the price of 401 million tomans.

Peugeot 207 in the automatic version, unlike the price fluctuations of other Peugeot products, remained unchanged at the price of 610 million tomans this week.

Peugeot 405 GLX in both dual-fuel and single-fuel versions with 2 million tomans each ended this week’s sales with prices of 310 and 295 million.

The 1400 model of this car, which has SLXM, spent this week with a decrease of 2 million tomans and reached 338 million tomans.

Peugeot Pars LX ended this week’s transactions with an increase of 1 million tomans with a price of 375 million.

The newer and updated model of this car was unveiled by Iran Khodro this year; That is, ELX Tiofayo has a factory price of 211 million and 380 thousand tomans. After the release of this car in the market from the middle of June, it is traded at an average of 435 million tomans. This week, this car decreased by 1 million tomans and reached the price of 427 million tomans.

Samand LX was traded with a jump of 8 million tomans at a price of 310 million tomans.

Pride was increased by 2 million tomans in version 111 and version 131. These two car models were traded for 206 million and 185 million tomans respectively this week. Pride van or 151 was traded unchanged at 183 million tomans this week.

Tiba hatchback in model 1401 increased by 1 million tomans to 207 million tomans and the cashier version also increased to 201 million tomans.

Saina was also traded with an increase of 1 million tomans at the beginning of the week until the end of the week at a price of 213 million tomans.
