An Iranian living in France donates 10 paintings by Master Hossein Behzad to the Ministry of Heritage and Culture

“These works are donated to the Behzad Museum by a compatriot living in France, the late Iraj Majall,” Saeed Khatibzadeh, spokesman and head of the Foreign Ministry’s Center for Public Diplomacy, told Heritage Aria.
“This incident shows the trust of our compatriots abroad in the diplomatic apparatus at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” he added. “It is an honor for us to preserve our country’s cultural heritage and to bring together these parts of Iranian and Iranian identity.”
Khatibzadeh stated: “My colleagues at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Paris and my colleagues in Tehran and our friends at the Ministry of Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts have done an important job. “The culture that is sometimes scattered around the world is one of our important tasks.”
“It is important for us to protect the identity of Iran and Iranians,” said the spokesman and head of the Foreign Ministry’s Center for Public Diplomacy. “God willing, the Behzad Museum will be a good host for these works, and it is remarkable and spectacular in its kind.”
Adibzadeh, head of the General Directorate of Museums, added: “These donated works belong to the famous contemporary Iranian painter, Professor Hossein Behzad, who was transferred to Iran at the behest of a compatriot living in France.”
“He was transferred to Tehran with the advice and cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in coordination with the Ministry of Cultural Heritage,” he added. “According to the will of our compatriots, we will display these works in the Hossein Behzad Museum, along with his other works, and expose them to the public.”
At the end of the works, Alireza Delkhosh, Deputy Minister of Cultural Cooperation and Public Relations, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’s Center for Public Diplomacy, handed over the cultural and historical property of the Ministry of Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts to Sahar Goodarzi.
