An Iraqi artist expressed his surprise at the enthusiasm of Iranian theater youth


According to Fars news agency, the 12th nationwide and the first international Sahibdelan theater event, at the end of one year of operation, is witnessing its last part from June 28 to July 1 in Qazvin province.

Holding meetings between Mahmoud Farhang, the secretary of Sahibdelan Theater and foreign artists, is part of the program of this event, the second session of which, with the presence of Abdul Karim Abboud (Teacher and Director of Basra Theater School), artists of two guest theater groups from Oman and theater activists of Qazvin province. It was held yesterday (Monday, June 29) at the General Directorate of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Qazvin province.

Mahmoud Farhang said in this meeting: “The thought and effort in organizing the Sahibdelan Theater event was based on the production of the show, not the competition.”

He continued with a description of the different parts of the Sahibdelan event, which has hosted fans for a year: “Performing ta’ziyeh, street shows, playwriting section, radio show, international webinars and play reading have been part of the programs of this event, and now the international section is also “It is being held in Qazvin.”

The artist added: “This year, with the efforts of those involved in this event, more than 10 plays have been translated into French and Arabic, and soon the English translation will be published so that it will be available to artists from other countries, and through this, ways of interaction, cooperation and acquaintance It will be smoother with religious and meaningful theater.

Mahmoud Farhang said: “We hope that the Sahibdelan international event can create the cultural exchanges we want. We also intend to support young and successful directors so that this artistic event is a place for their talents to grow.”

* The reception of young artists was surprising

In the continuation of this meeting, Abdul Karim Abboud, a theater teacher and director of the Basra Theater School, stated that the historical and cultural depth of Iranians is very respectable and said: “I am present at this event to hold a workshop on the “intertwining of theater culture”. The first day of this program was held with the presence of 15 participants, and on the second day, this number reached 45 people, and the enthusiasm of the young artists and their welcome was very pleasant and surprising for me.

At the end of his speech, this theater lecturer emphasized the need for greater cooperation between neighboring countries in the field of performing arts and said: “Recently, a memorandum of understanding was signed to expand the cooperation between artists of Basra and Khuzestan, and I hope that through this means we will get to know more about Iranian theater and work towards the production of works. Let’s go together.”

In this meeting, Oman’s theater groups gave a brief description of the performances they will perform on stage.
