Analysis of half a century of Iranian cinema in a book

The book “Guide to Iranian Cinema” in 517 entries has reviewed, analyzed and selected selected films of Iranian cinema in the years 1309 to 1361.

Charso Press: In the introduction of the guide book of Iranian cinema, it is stated: This book can be considered as a continuation of the path that Hassan Hosseini had already started by publishing a series of lectures on “Persian film”. The main difference between this book and other similar examples that have been published before is the “Film Criticism” section, which has turned the result of this five-year research into the historiography of Iranian cinema through films, in which cinematic works as text in various fields. The field of cultural studies has shaped and examined them.

The information section of the films and the synopsis are also more detailed than similar examples and are supplemented with more details and lesser-seen images.

Film critics and researchers such as Khosrow Dehghan, Behzad Rahimian, Alireza Mahmoudi, Ali Gholipour, Behdad Avandamini and Ali Papli Yazdi have also collaborated with Hassan Hosseini in publishing this book.

In the new edition of the Iranian Cinema Film Guide, an introduction as well as new points about some films have been added to the text.

This book has 820 pages and has been published by Rozanehkar Publications.
