Angelina Jolie’s invitation to the world to address the category of “war rape”

Angelina Jolie, the famous Hollywood actress and Special Ambassador of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees today (Monday) called on world leaders to increase the necessary measures to prosecute Russian “war aggressors” for the “crimes” they are committing in Ukraine.

Charso Press: Angelina Jolie stated in an interview with “Evening Standard” magazine: “Anger is not enough. Even supporting survivors alone is not enough. The goal should be to create a deterrent; A factor that makes the perpetrators of these crimes accountable. “Half measures do not work.”

Some Western officials and media claim that Russian soldiers committed “sexual crimes and violence” during the Russia-Ukraine war.

The Hollywood star, who founded a campaign a decade ago to end sexual violence and rape in war, said during this interview: “Sexual rapes reported during the Russian invasion of Ukraine followed this pattern: soldiers entering a civilian zone. and then they attack and rape women and with this action they destroy families and the whole society.”

He added: “People who commit such crimes think that no one can have anything to do with them. “The international community has not yet done enough to hold these people accountable, and as a result, every time in every conflict, civilians pay the price.”

Angelina Jolie concluded: “To hold the perpetrators accountable, the first immediate step is to establish a permanent and international commission to investigate sexual violence in these conflicts and to support international investigators who investigate such cases to bring justice.” “

Also, British Foreign Secretary James Cloreley is hosting a two-day conference starting today to tackle sexual violence in many conflict countries, including Ukraine, Ethiopia and Colombia.

“Sexual violence and rape as a weapon of war must be immediately condemned by the international community and immediate measures taken to stop such attacks,” Cleverly said during his speech.

Karim Khan, the Prosecutor General of the International Criminal Court, who visited Ukraine this year, is also going to participate in this conference in London.

This prosecutor has deployed a monitoring team in Ukraine to collect sufficient and necessary evidence in this regard.
