Hedayat added: The intervention in the areas of worn-out fabric used to be about 4427 hectares, now these areas are continuously 7000 hectares. In the non-continuous and disconnected state, another 2000 hectares are added to these tissues and it increases to about 9000 hectares.

The CEO of Tehran City Renewal Organization reminded that “in Tehran we have about 2,000 hectares of worn-out and sometimes single-plate structures”, he added: at the present time, the goal of increasing the scope of Tehran’s urban regeneration is 9,000 hectares, of course, regeneration is different; somewhere Services increase, elsewhere we have social issues.

According to the research carried out in the Tehran City Renewal Organization, the total price of one square meter of housing, including infrastructure and superstructure costs (water transmission lines, preparation, clinic, school, etc.) for the government is about 50 million Tomans.

Hedayat stated that the government pays about 70% of the total cost of the housing, and said that within the target areas of the regeneration of Tehran, there is the capacity to produce several hundred thousand residential units that have infrastructure and superstructure facilities.

Emphasizing that the threat becomes an opportunity with the production of housing within the limits of the regeneration goal of Tehran city, he said: this opportunity should be used by using the support of the government, which will have a significant effect on the balance of the housing market and price control.
