Even Apple later confirmed this controversial decision in order to prevent users from suddenly turning off their phones, but did not offer them any possibility to disable this feature, and even did not provide proper information in this regard.

According to Guttman, Apple did not properly report the slowdown on its devices because it intended to hide the battery failure of older iPhones. He explains:

“Instead of doing decent and legal work for its customers and offering free replacement, repair or compensation services, Apple has gone astray by hiding software updates that slow down their devices by up to 58%.

I’ve filed this case so that millions of iPhone users across the UK can get compensation for Apple’s actions.

“If this complaint is successful, we hope that the top companies will re-evaluate their business models and refrain from doing so.”

The iPhone 6, iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, 8 and 8 Plus, SE and iPhone X series have been affected by this issue.

Similar lawsuits have been filed against Apple in the past. In Italy, for example, the company was fined € 10 million, and in the United States, a class action lawsuit led to the company paying $ 25 per iPhone.
