Apple removed the largest Russian social network from the App Store

Apple has removed the largest Russian social network from the App Store following new sanctions against the referendum in Ukraine.
It was a few months ago that Apple left the Russian market and announced that it has no plans to continue operating in this country. And since Monday, Apple has started removing major Russian apps from its App Store, headed by VKontakte, Russia’s largest social network and Facebook replacement.
Russian social network VK has millions of users
In addition to this program, Apple has removed other applications from the same developer, such as Mail.ru, VK Music and Youla, from the App Store. Users who have previously downloaded these programs can still use them without any problems; But removing them from the App Store may affect receiving notifications and payments. Of course, users can still use the VKontakte social network on their desktop or phone web browser.
In a statement, Apple explained the reason for the ban and said it was related to a referendum organized under the supervision of Russia in some separatist regions of Ukraine. The British government has also responded to this referendum with a wave of sanctions against state-owned companies and Russian managers. Among them is the VK application development company. For this reason, Apple has followed international laws and has removed the products of this company from its own application store.
