Appreciation of the characters of the documentary “Unfinished Days”

According to Fars News Agency, the Center for the Development of Documentary and Experimental Cinema started making documentaries and animations on the subject of Corona and its impact on the individual and collective life of Iranians in March 1998, at the same time as the outbreak of the Corona virus. In 1999, in the 14th “Cinema Reality” festival, the corona section was added to the festival.

In the 15th “Haghighat Cinema” festival, the film “Unfinished Days” (Mehdi Ghorbanpour) in the Martyr Avini section received the second prize, including a silver statue and a diploma of honor. In “Unfinished Days”, the focus of the narrative is one of the wartime radios who tries to go to the Corona war on the health front.

On the evening of Monday, April 20, in the Persian Gulf Hall of the Kish Free Zone International Conference Center, a special ceremony was held in the presence of Mohammad Hamidi Moghadam, Director of the Development Center, Yaser Shahpiri, Cultural and Social Deputy of the Kish Free Zone, Engineer Mohsen Gharib, Director of the Kish Festivals and Events Institute. Shaji, a consultant and head of the General Directorate of the Free Zone Organization, and a group of Kish artists, the director of “Unfinished Days”, the family of martyr Seyyed Ali Seyyed, and Momen Momeni were honored.

Mehdi Ghorbanpour, the director of the documentary “Unfinished Days”, said at the beginning of the ceremony: “I thank all the friends who are present at this ceremony.” Also from my filmmakers who helped me make this film during the difficult days of the Corona virus outbreak. I am very happy that a part of the contemporary history of Kish Island was recorded through this film. I’m glad to see the result of a year of effort and 36 shooting sessions together tonight. The place of good friends who helped me in the early days of the Corona virus is empty. I would like to thank the family of Haj Agha Seyedin and Mr. Momen Momeni, the main character of the film.

Following this ceremony, the director of the Center for the Development of Documentary and Experimental Cinema stood behind the podium and said: In late 1998, when the corona outbreak occurred in the country, a critical committee was formed at the Center for the Development of Documentary and Experimental Cinema to make documentaries. And several brilliant documentaries were produced in this way, one of which was “Unfinished Days”.

He added: Mehdi Ghorbanpour, a good documentary filmmaker in the country, had a plan that was very different according to the climate of Kish Island and its recreational atmosphere. It was interesting for us to know how such a climate copes with the Corona outbreak crisis, which is why we agreed to make this documentary.

Hamidi Moghaddam stated that he won the silver statue of the important part of Martyr Avini in the 15th “Unfinished Days” film festival: “The influence of the two characters on the audience was very important.” In the Martyr Sardar Soleimani Award section, which is a new section in the Haghighat Film Festival, different approaches are considered, and the character of Mr. Momen Momeni’s film “Unfinished Days” was to be praised in this section, but we did not succeed due to Corona courier in December.

He continued: “We considered it necessary to appreciate Mr. Momeni and the family of Hojjatoleslam Seyedin on this occasion. These two great worlds are portrayed in the film.” The absence of Mr. Seyedin’s martyr’s health in the film is one of the special moments in documentary cinema.

The director of the Development Center said: “I hope that with the presence of Mr. Shah Piri, we will participate in the field of making films and cultural programs, because we need such a geography to increase the cinema space.”

In the end, he noted: “We are grateful to such personalities as Mr. Momen Momeni and Hojjatoleslam Seyed Ali Seyedin, who both played their role well in the scene of holy defense and faced danger without any consideration, and a brilliant record in their memory.” They left.

At the end of the ceremony, the CEO of Gostaresh Center presented a plaque of appreciation to the family of the 15th “Cinema Reality” festival to the martyr’s defender of health, philanthropy, Hojjatoleslam Seyed Ali Seyedin, and Momen Momeni, the character of “Unfinished Days”. Mehdi Ghorbanpour, director of “Unfinished Days”, was also awarded a plaque of appreciation by the Kish Free Zone Organization’s socio-cultural deputy.
