Appreciation to Reza Babak for “Electron”; Cinema is very sick!

According to Fars news agency, the screening and review program of the short film “Electron” directed by Mehran Ranjbar, produced by Salar Tehrani and starring Reza Babak, was held on Friday, January 22, 1402 at Iran’s Artists’ House, with the presence of a large number of cultural figures. And it was accompanied by art and the unique reception of the audience.

At the beginning of this program, Mehran Ranjbar (actor and director of theater and cinema) presented a plaque and honored Reza Babak, a veteran actor of Iranian theater and cinema, and read a text: “In the beginning, there was nothing, there were no words. And it was the word of God. The art of transforming the obvious into the original, and how beautiful and cultured, His Excellency Reza Babak has created original works throughout his valuable and artistic life. Gentleness and morality are two important elements in the structure and character of this great man. Thanks to the valuable presence of this veteran artist and masterpiece in the incredible and short film “Electron”.

He further thanked the CEO, other agents of Iran Artists’ House and all the people who helped to hold this program.

In the next part of the ceremony, Mohammad Rahmanian said: We have worked with Reza Babak for nearly 30 years in the fields of puppet shows and stage shows. One of these collaborations was the “Horses” show, which led to Reza Babak’s open heart surgery. In this show, he ran across the stage many times, but his voice was not heard. He didn’t say even once why I have to work at such a fast pace? For this reason, I did not think that Reza would be pressured. However, he worked all 45 nights of the performance in the main theater hall of the city and shone. But then he went to the hospital.

He added: I think my presence here is not much needed; Therefore, with the permission of all friends, I invite Abbas Jahangirian to come on stage.

Abbas Jahangirian (author) continued this program and said: Greetings to all of you who have chosen to be here on Friday. I would like to thank the House of Iranian Artists, all the attendees and the faces who came to this program. We live in a situation where we should cherish these togetherness. It is appropriate to mention here Behrouz Gharibpour, who turned a barracks into a home for Iranian artists. The situation has caused us to need to be together more than ever. In the absence of television cameras, we ourselves must be each other’s media and inform the activities of our friends.

He added: Sometimes the books of my closest friends are published or their shows are performed, but I don’t know about them. Because cultural news (as it should) is not reflected in our country. That’s why when they tell me that Mrs. Haeri is in Iran, I ask if she was not abroad? There are many of our elders who live in their own homes and we do not know about their activities. Because cultural activities are not reflected in the media at all. Anyway, thank you to all my friends for holding this program. I am very eager to see Mr. Babak’s last performance in this movie together.

After the ceremony, Reza Babak said: I personally like improvisation in cinema and theater, but whenever I come on stage, I get stressed. Even on the first and second day of the theater performance, I get sick because of too much stress. It’s like there are strange good energies here that I can’t stand. Anyway, I am very grateful to all these young children who are first-class artists. I have learned so much in this movie that there was no limit. In this movie, I saw both art and humanity, honor and togetherness. The guys from Electron were a really great group and I’m proud of them. I think it has been done well.

In another part of his speech, he said: Cinema is very sick now. Sometimes I feel sick when I see its ads. (Believe it) it wasn’t. I grew up in the golden age of fine arts and worked with Baizai and Dr. Rafiei. Also, I have had a class with Zinda Yad Saharyan. Personally, I want these children and youth to repeat the era of those elders. I hope that brighter and better days will come when everyone will ask each other and care for each other. Also, good movies should be made in the cinema, all children should be at work and be able to work.

In the end, Babak finished his speech with a poetry reading.

In the next part of the ceremony, the short film “Electron” was played for the attendees.
