Arc A770M graphics card performance in 3DMark Time Spy benchmark

Recently, the performance results of the Intel Arc A770M laptop graphics card have been published in the 3DMark Time Spy benchmark. As it seems, this graphics card will have the same performance as the GeForce RTX 3070M laptop graphics card.

Arc A770M graphics card: performance equal to RTX 3070M

Earlier, Intel officially announced that the Arc A770M graphics card is about 12% faster than the laptop version of the RTX 3060 graphics card. But now the results of this graphics card in the 3DMark Time Spy test have been published by the Twitter page of Rogame, and with them, the performance of this graphics card can be compared with high-end graphics cards for laptops such as the RTX 3070M.

The high-end Arc A770M graphics card is equipped with the full version of the ACM-G10 chipset, which has 32 Xe cores and 32 Ray Tracing units and a frequency of 1650 MHz. In addition, this graphics card will have 16 GB of GDDR6 memory, which will work through a 256-bit interface and consume 120-150 watts of power. On paper, this graphics card is a competitor to the RTX 3070 Ti Max-Q graphics card.

The Twitter page of Rogame published two series of benchmarks of the Arc A770M graphics card; The first series belongs to the new generation of the new Intel NUC computer (model NUC12SNKi72) with APO off and the second series belongs to the CLEVO X270PTA laptop with APO on. The average frequency of this graphics card is 1710 MHz, which is higher than Intel’s reference frequency of 1650 MHz. Of course, Intel itself has announced that the reference frequencies are not the highest possible frequencies, and the maximum frequency depends on factors such as the card’s energy consumption and the cooling used for it, and in general, it has a special design in which the graphics card is supposed to be used.

Faster than RTX 3060M, with and without APO

Regarding the performance of the Arc A770M graphics card in the 3DMark Time Spy benchmark, we must say that this graphics card scored 10793 points with APO off and 11667 points with APO on, and its performance varies by 8% depending on whether APO is active or inactive. Regarding the performance compared to competitors, we must say that this graphics card with APO off is still faster than the RTX 3060M graphics card and with APO on, it has the same performance as the RTX 3070M graphics card.

Of course, we must keep in mind that the results of computing benchmarks do not necessarily indicate gaming performance. The results of these benchmarks show that if Intel works a little more on Arc drivers, it can improve the performance of Arc graphics cards. Of course, Intel is also working hard to optimize the drivers so that it can widely supply Arc Alchemist desktop and laptop graphics cards by the end of this summer.
