Archaeological excavation begins in Qara Hasanlu area of Ardabil

According to Ardabil Wave News Agency, Ruhollah Mohammadi Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage of Ardabil Province said: Operation Archaeological excavations Qarah Hasanlu site located in Hasanlu village of Namin city is being constructed based on a permit issued by the Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Research Institute of the country under the supervision of Fariborz Tahmasebi.
He added: “The mentioned archeological excavation is in order to save the historical monuments and an attempt is made to extract the most comprehensive information from this ancient site at the appointed time. Discover and identify the cultural context.
Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage of Ardabil Province He said: Qara Hasanlu area, due to its location in the sedimentation route of Sabalan mountain slopes, is completely under a layer of sediment about one meter thick, which after harvesting sediment accumulation, evidence of cultural layers was obtained and to date based on trench excavation results. Evidence of the initial architectural structure of the site has been identified in two ways: brick and stone structure.
Mohammadi added: “The brick structures are in the form of wide walls that are glued together with mud mortar, and these brick walls seem to be part of the architectural structure of the spaces, parts of which have been obtained in this excavation.”
Referring to the discovery of evidence of a human burial in this archaeological excavation of the site, he said: “This human burial is in the style of an arch and seems to belong to the historical period.”
