Arrest of 6 illegal diggers in Damavand

According to Aria Heritage, citing the public relations of the General Directorate of Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts of Tehran Province, Shahram Sharifi announced this news on Friday, October 14, 2014, adding: “They were historical objects and were arrested by the aristocracy of the intelligence services.”

The head of Damavand Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Department stated: “The existence of evidence from historical monuments should make it out of the reach of profiteers.”

“Illegal diggers do the most damage to the historical and cultural layers of the ancient sites in the thought of reaching the treasure,” he added.
