Asian games Rowers’ competitors were determined in the preliminary round


According to Fars news agency, the rowing competitions of the Asian Games will start tomorrow, September 29, at Fuyang Water Sports Center in Hangzhou. The Iranian team is present in these competitions with 5 rowers in the women’s division and 2 rowers in the men’s division. Afshin Farzam is the head coach of Iran’s national rowing team in these games, and Homa Khatami and Farzin Rezaei are present as coaches by his side.

After the meeting of the team leaders, the competitors of our country’s rowers were determined in the preliminary round. Tomorrow, the Iranian national team will face their rivals in the preliminary round of 5 events.

Nazanin Melai and Kimia Zarei will face opponents from Chinese Taipei, Thailand, Korea and India in the women’s lightweight double rowing starting at 4:40 in the second preliminary group. The first boat of this competition will directly advance to the finals and the rest of the boats will be re-chanced.

Mehsa Javar and Zainab Nowrozi will compete in the women’s heavyweight double rowing from 5:10 in the first preliminary group with opponents from Kazakhstan, Korea, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. The first and second boats of this competition will go to the finals, and the rest will go to another chance.

Amirhossein Mahmoodpour and Reza Garhami will face competitors from Iraq, Hong Kong, Bahrain, Uzbekistan and Thailand in the second preliminary group at 5:40 in men’s heavyweight double rowing. The first boat of this competition will go to the finals and the rest will be re-lucked.

Amirhossein Mahmoodpour will compete with the representatives of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iraq and Kuwait in the third preliminary group of men’s single rowing from 11:20. The first to third players of this competition will go to the semi-finals and the rest will go to another chance.

Iran’s women’s four-person rowing team, consisting of Mahsa Javar, Nazanin Melai, Zainab Nowrozi and Fateme Majalal, will compete with opponents from China, Indonesia, Vietnam and Kazakhstan in the women’s heavyweight four-person rowing competition.
