Assigning the responsibility of the “Art and Experience” Institute to the Center for the Development of Documentary and Experimental Cinema

Theater News Base: Mohammad Khazaei said: “In the forthcoming major programs in the cinema organization, we seek to plan and design methods that will facilitate and expand the screening channels of Iranian art and experimental works.”

He continued: The cinema organization intends to start a new chapter to support artistic and experimental films in the country in order to grow the cinema knowledge of the audience and improve the artistic quality of cinema. In this direction, while benefiting from the valuable experiences and achievements of activists in this field in recent years, we believe that the field of distribution and screening of such products of Iranian cinema needs to expand the platforms and capacities more than before.

The head of the Cinema Organization said: “Although the Institute of Iranian Art and Experience over the past eight years, in this field has provided valuable opportunities as the only definite arm and auxiliary space for the screening cycle of such works in the country, but it has not been enough.”

According to him; A working group consisting of experts, specialists and experienced activists in this field, after studying, evaluating and pathology of this field and recognizing the potential and actual capacities of this sector, have redefined and redesigned the models and executive structure for this sector. These changes are a serious need in this field with the aim of expanding the distribution of these films in the scope of more real and legal centers and institutions.

Khazaei, while thanking the efforts and effective actions of the Iranian Institute of Art and Experience, said: “We at the Cinema Organization, while inviting and welcoming the continuation of the activities of the Iranian Institute of Art and Experience, intend to increase the dynamism, capacity and cooperation of more departments.” Private and public – real and legal.

He said that the Center for the Development of Documentary, Experimental and Animation Cinema will henceforth be introduced as the custodian of this department. He will be in charge of artistic and experimental films.

The head of the Cinema Organization pointed out: In the new season of supporting the screening of artistic and experimental works, in addition to the Iranian Institute of Art and Experience, all institutions and distribution offices and interested individuals and legal entities can be present in this field and no series exclusively Will not work in this area.

He said that experimental and artistic cinema is without a doubt the origin and habitat of the new generation of filmmakers and future creators of Iranian cinema, he said: Reach worthy of their creators.

Khazaei pointed out that the revival of artistic and experimental cinema depends on making fundamental changes in the chain of screenings and distribution in cinemas, online screens and platforms. Artistic and experimental works and short films, documentaries and animations should be changed from the current abandoned conditions.

The head of the organization stated that our attitude towards this type of cinema is not a symbolic and theatrical look at solving tasks: paying attention to the capacities and functions of artistic and experimental cinema influences the future quality of Iranian cinema; And complements body cinema and screen.
