Asus unveiled the Rogue Phone 8 series; Specifications + price


Asus unveiled the ROG Phone 8 series at CES 2024. This family includes the Rugged Phone 8 and 8 Pro, which use the 3rd generation Snapdragon 8 chip and come with better cameras than the previous generation. Also, the Pro model has an AniME Vision LED panel on the rear frame.

These two phones They use a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2448 pixels and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. The refresh rate of this display is 165 Hz and its maximum brightness reaches 2500 nits.

Specifications of the ASUS ROG Phone 8 series

In the rear frame, both devices are equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera and a 32-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, along with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The main camera uses the six-axis Hybrid Gimbal Stabilizer 3.0 feature. Also, the telephoto camera with 4 in 1 pixel integration can produce good images and has optical image stabilization.

In the selfie section, a 32-megapixel camera is used, which produces 8-megapixel images by default. The field of view of this camera has increased from 73 degrees to 90 degrees to accommodate more people in its frame.

One of the noticeable differences between the regular model and the Pro is the LED panel on the back of the Rugged Phone 8 Pro, which is called AniME Vision. This panel consists of hundreds of LED points that can give a different look to this phone. But overall, slight differences in design and configuration can be seen in these models.

Asus is offering the ROG Phone 8 at a base price of $1,100 for the 12GB + 256GB model and the ROG Phone 8 Pro model in the 16GB + 512GB version at a price of $1,200. This family has another member called ROG Phone 8 Pro Edition, which comes with 24+1024GB of RAM and storage at a price of $1,500. It should be mentioned that all three models will come to the market from the first season of 2024.
