ASUS ZenBook 17 Fold OLED, a 17.3-inch folding laptop

Asus earlier this year and during the CES 2022 event for the first time ZenBook 17 Fold OLED folding laptop but recently introduced this laptop officially and with full specifications during the IFA event. Let’s learn more about this folding laptop.
Technical specifications of ZenBook 17 Fold OLED laptop
Regarding the technical specifications, the ZenBook 17 Fold OLED laptop is equipped with Intel’s 12th generation Core i7 1250U processor and 16 GB of LPDDR5 memory. The 1250U processor is a 10-core processor with two P cores and eight E cores. This laptop does not have a separate graphics card and its graphic processing is done by the internal Iris Xe graphics. The storage space of this laptop is provided by a 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD and its operating system is Windows 11 by default.
This laptop is actually a laptop/tablet hybrid that has a 17.3-inch foldable OLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1920 pixels and a maximum brightness of 500 nits. When it’s in the fully open position, it can be placed on its own back stand and used as a monitor – a great combination for doing office/study work using a Bluetooth keyboard.
The screen of this laptop can be folded up to 120 degrees. In this case, you can use its 17.3-inch screen fully by connecting a Bluetooth keyboard. Of course, it is also possible to convert the lower half of the screen into a virtual touch keyboard, although the experience of working with it is not close to the physical keyboard in any way.
Can be used as a normal laptop
The ZenBook 17 Fold OLED laptop can also be used as a completely normal laptop. If you connect a magnetic physical keyboard to the lower half of the screen, this device becomes a 12.5-inch laptop with a resolution of 1920 x 1280 pixels. Of course, you can use this device as a tablet without connecting a keyboard, but 17.3 inches is a very large size for a tablet.
On the sides of this laptop, there are two USB-C ports with support for Thunderbolt 4 interface. Both ports can be used as charging ports as well as image output through the DisplayPort interface. In addition, a 3.5 mm jack is also installed for this laptop. Asus has installed a 4-cell 75 watt-hour battery inside this laptop, which can charge the device for up to 9 and a half hours. The weight of this laptop is also 1.5 kg, which is a very high number for a tablet, but it is a very good number for a 17.3-inch laptop.
Price and availability
Regarding the price and availability, we must say that the ZenBook 17 Fold OLED laptop will be released in the last quarter of this year at a price of $3499. Just for comparison, the price of this laptop is more than the price of two folding phones Galaxy Z Fold4!
