Attack on the Iranian Consulate in Hamburg, Germany
According to the local German media, the Iranian consulate building in Hamburg, Germany, was attacked with a incendiary device on Friday evening, according to Fars News Agency’s International Group.
According to the Bild newspaper, at 8:40 a.m., the driver of a passing car noticed smoke coming from the entrance of the building and saw two people walking away from there to the Latankamp metro station.
A fire alarm went off, and the fire, which may have been started by a Molotov cocktail, was quickly extinguished.
Police immediately began the chase. The subway was stopped and searched, and the two men were interrogated but later released.
According to German media reports, the Iranian consul arrived at the scene and spoke with German officials. CCTV images are now set to be reviewed. German security police are involved in the investigation.
According to reports, no one was injured in the incident and only the entrance of the consulate building was damaged.
