According to the report of Mehr News Agency, quoted by Arab News, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria summoned Tehran’s ambassador in Vienna, protesting the issuance of a prison sentence for a citizen of this country in Iran.
According to the report, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria has announced that “an Austrian citizen” has been sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for espionage in Iran.
In the continuation of the report, it is mentioned that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria was informed of the issuance of this verdict on Monday and summoned the Iranian ambassador on Tuesday.
Also, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria announced that the ambassador of this country in Tehran was allowed to meet with the arrested person in three meetings.
A part of the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria states: We will continue to use all the possibilities to provide him and other Austrian citizens imprisoned around the world with our best consular services and support.
