“Avatar 2” is the unexpected guest of Chinese cinemas

The latest installment of the “Avatar” film series by “James Cameron” will be released in Chinese theaters on December 16.
Charso Press: “Avatar: Waterway” is one of the few foreign films to reach the Chinese market in recent months, and other films include the latest in the animated series “Minions” as well as “Where the Crabs Sing.”
Considering the continuation of the Corona epidemic in China and also the competition between Chinese and American cinema as the two largest global markets, the share of Hollywood films in China has decreased and Chinese cinema is emphasizing more on box office sales by relying on domestic works.
Avatar: The Last Airbender is the sequel to James Cameron’s 2009 sci-fi film, which remains the highest-grossing film of all time. The film stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, and Sigourney Weaver, and takes place more than a decade before the first part of the film.
The film tells the story of the Sally family (Jake, Nitiri and their children) and the problems they face, the efforts they make to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to survive and the tragedies they endure.
“James Cameron” has spent years making and filming “Avatar” sequels. The shooting of “Avatar: The Water Way” began in 2017 and at the same time as the third film in this series, which is scheduled to be released in 2024. He is also working on a fourth and fifth film, which are slated for release in 2026 and 2028, respectively.
It is said that making the sequels of the movie “Avatar” will cost more than one billion dollars in total.
The first part of the movie “Avatar” came to the cinema in 2009 and finally with 2.84 billion dollars, it won the title of the highest-grossing movie in the history of cinema, excluding inflation, and along with “Avengers: Endgame”, “Titanic”, ” “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and “Avengers: Infinity War” are the only films that have grossed more than $2 billion so far.
