Ayman Safadi: The formation of “NATO in the Middle East” against Iran is out of the question – Mehr news agency Iran and world’s news

According to Mehr News Agency, Jordan’s Foreign Minister responded to the news published recently about the formation of a defense alliance consisting of Arab countries and the Zionist occupation regime known as “Middle Eastern NATO”.

Ayman al-Safadi, who gave an interview to the Lebanese newspaper Al-Nahar al-Arabi on the sidelines of the consultative meeting of Arab League foreign ministers in Beirut, said: “Nothing has been proposed to Jordan regarding the defense coalition with the presence of the occupying regime.” The formation of NATO in the sense that it has been published in the media is not discussed and there has been no talk about the defense system of the region in which Israel is present.

In response to a question about the formation of an Arab coalition with the presence of the Zionist occupation regime to confront Iran, Jordan’s foreign minister said, stressing that this issue is not on the table, Jordan has so far said nothing about an Arab coalition with the presence of Tel Aviv to confront Iran. Iran has not heard and such a proposal has not been given to Jordan.

He also emphasized that the issue of forming this coalition against Iran is not on the agenda of the summit that is going to be held by the heads of 9 Arab countries in the presence of US President Joe Biden in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in the middle of this month.

The Jordanian minister noted that his country supports any proposal including defense, fighting terrorism, economic security, social security and any other issue that supports Arab solidarity and cooperation.

In another part of his speech, referring to the developments in Lebanon, he said: Lebanon’s collapse must be prevented. The leaders of the Arab countries say that they are ready to help Lebanon, at the same time there are issues that need to be resolved and everyone is waiting for the formation of a government and the holding of presidential elections in this country and its results.

The Jordanian foreign minister also addressed the developments in Palestine and, referring to the Arab and international responsibility for the defense of Islamic and Christian sanctuaries in the occupied Jerusalem, emphasized that all actions that weaken the solution of the formation of two states must be stopped.
