Azimi: The merger of the Institute of Veteran Artists is ruled out

According to the news reporter of Fars news agency, the issue of the merger of the Institute of Veteran Artists is a subject that occasionally enters into the various discussions of artists’ circles, an issue that started with the merger of this institute with the Rudaki Foundation and continues with its merger with other institutions.
* According to the Institute of Veteran Artists, the merger is ruled out
In this regard, Seyed Abbas Azimi, the CEO of the Institute of Veteran Artists, said at the ceremony honoring the veteran artists born in May this morning, Monday, May 18, at Zeba Garden, he said: “The issue of integration is definitely ruled out.” But we believe that the better the relationship between the Institute of Veteran Artists and the Art Credit Fund, the better services will be provided to artists.”
In the continuation of this ceremony, Dariush Arjamand, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Veteran Artists, pointing out that the number of us as directors in this institute is small, said: “But our institute is not equal to its quantity, and the essence of the Institute of Veteran Artists is its quality.”
*Confirmation of non-merger by the Ministry of Culture
Before this, Seyed Mahmoud Eslami, Deputy Director of Development and Resource Management of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, said: “The next important thing is not to pay any attention to the rumors about the merger of the institution. This institution will never be merged with any other place, and as emphasized by the Honorable Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Integration has been removed from the agenda of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution. The Institute of Veteran Artists is a great and important treasure for the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. I envision a bright horizon and future for this institution and its members in the 13th People’s Government.”
He added: “The promise of 20 billion tomans of aid to the institute this year will be implemented, God willing, and there is not a day that honorable gentlemen and Azimi and we in the ministry do not pursue it. We had a plot of land in Parand that we recently handed over to Mr. Afzali, and it is going to be built, and the institute’s share of this project will be provided to the artists.”
Where did the merger story begin?
Before that and in 1998, there were talks about the merger of this institution with the Rudaki Foundation, and this issue was raised in the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Institute of Veteran Artists and it was stated that the merger of the institution with the Rudaki Foundation is not at all discussed and this institution will not be merged.
The first talk about the merger of these institutions was in late August 1998, when the public relations of the Ministry of Guidance reported that the “Organization of Institutions in the Art Vice” plan, which oversees the activities of associations and affiliated institutions in this ministry, was presented. A plan based on which the number of subsidiary institutions of the artistic vice-chancellor will be reduced.
