The senior Chinese official did not elaborate on what he meant by warning the United States that Chen would face “similar conditions.”

The US Army sent an F-22 fighter jet to shoot down this balloon over the Atlantic Ocean. The balloon that China said was a “civilian” balloon to receive meteorological information.
Before the reaction of the Ministry of Defense of China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country strongly criticized the downing of the balloon and described this action of the United States as “a clear extreme reaction and a serious violation of international custom”.
China’s Foreign Ministry today (Sunday) issued a statement expressing its “strong dissatisfaction and protest against the use of force by the United States to attack an unidentified civilian aircraft”.
In its statement, Beijing has reserved the right to retaliate against Washington’s action and emphasized: “China will resolutely support the legitimate rights and interests of the relevant company, and at the same time reserves the right to take further measures in response to take this action”.
