In this regard, “Kafraj” village in Delfan city of Lorestan province can be called the “honeyest” village in the province because there are 85 thousand bee colonies in this village and more than 20% of Lorestan’s honey production is produced by this village.
The village of “Kafraj” has 300 households, of which 270 households are engaged in beekeeping, and 800 tons of high-quality honey are produced from the apiaries of this village.
Honey production record by Delfani beekeeper
Turaj Moradi, a beekeeper from Lorestan and from “Kafraj” village, Delfan city, was able to produce 156 kg of pure honey from a seven-story colony with one queen and became the record holder for honey production in the country.

In the continuation of his speech, Moradi stated that the work of reforming and “selecting” in this field is a very complicated task, and clarified: this field needs today’s science and knowledge.
He said: Good breed, young queen, temperature, nutrition, pasture and management will make the beekeeping work go well and make the beekeeper successful.
This Lorestan beekeeper stated that there is no “poor” or “one-story” colony in my apiary, and added: The growth and increase of the bee population has reached the fifth, sixth, and seventh floors, which indicates the success of the “selection” and improvement work.
Moradi said: My apiary is both job creation and educational.
He emphasized: Generous Zagros has dozens of types of medicinal plants in its heart, and the result of these precious medicinal plants is Lorestan’s valuable honey, which is known in the world.
Production of 3800 tons of honey in Lorestan
Seyed Imad Shahrokhi, the head of the Lorestan Agricultural Jihad Organization, also stated in this regard: Honey bees are very effective in honey production and pollination and form one third of human food.
He added: “Honeybees play a very important role in pollination and fertility, in developed countries, they are deployed in 100% fruit-bearing orchards to play an essential role in pollination of plants.”
The head of the Lorestan Agricultural Jihad Organization stated: According to statistics and information, the share of Lorestan province in honey production at the national level is nearly three and a half percent, and we rank ninth in the country.
Shahrokhi said: The amount of honey production in the province is 3,800 tons per year, and with 4,200 colonies, we are in ninth place in the country, while last year we were ranked 11th, and for this reason, the development of the honey industry is one of our priorities. We must strengthen.
He clarified: Last year, we distributed 3,500 tons of sugar to beekeepers and we have had several training and orientation classes, and if Note 16 of the facility is notified, we will help the producers of this industry in terms of credit.
