Biden extends sanctions on Iranian oil – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news

According to Mehr News Agency, the White House announced in a statement the decision of US President “Joe Biden” regarding Article 1245 of the National Defense Law for the fiscal year 2012.

Under the law, the United States has stated that sanctions related to the clause on Iranian oil remain in place.

“Given the powers that the Constitution and the laws of the United States have given me as President, and after carefully reviewing the reports submitted by the Bureau of Energy to Congress, including the report presented in April 2022 and other related factors such as global economic conditions, excess capacity level and availability of strategic reserves. I declare other than Iran for a significant reduction in the volume of oil and petroleum products purchased from Iran or through foreign financial institutions.

“I will continue to monitor the situation closely,” he said.

The extension of the embargo on Iranian oil comes as EU foreign policy chief Jorf Borrell, referring to the recent visit of his deputy Enrique Mora to Tehran, said that the lifting of sanctions against Iran is set to resume soon. .

The Vienna talks have been under way since last year with the aim of lifting sanctions against Iran in the form of the P5 + 1, but US extravagance has still prevented a final agreement on the issue.

The United States has far-reaching demands in this regard, which is beyond Iran’s red lines. At the same time, the Biden administration is practically continuing its policies in a different form, claiming the decision to return to the Iran nuclear deal, from which former President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew.
