Biden: If Trump is my opponent in the next election, he will be lucky

The remarks came as Biden arrived in Brussels to meet with NATO leaders, CNN reported. Many NATO members are concerned about the return of the “America First” slogan and Trump’s anti-NATO policies in general.
Asked if US’s foreign policy would change if another person were elected in 2024, he said he did not think about the 2024 election.
“I do not criticize anyone for asking this question, but in the next election, if the same person becomes my opponent again, I will be lucky,” Biden said.
Trump has not yet officially announced his candidacy for the 2024 election, but he is the only popular candidate of the Republican Party and has publicly stated his intention to run in the next US presidential election.
Biden said there is still a long way to go before the next presidential election, and he is currently focusing on the November midterm elections.
He added: there is a long time left until the elections. If the election is at stake, my focus is on ensuring that we retain the House and Senate so that I can have the space to do what I want and be able to drive economic growth, rationalize American foreign policy, and Leading the free world, let me pursue my policies.
Biden has sought to portray his presidency as a period in which the United States has emerged from the isolation of Trump’s time and returned to the diplomatic arena, CNN reported.
Biden has repeatedly argued that the United States has a leading role to play in ensuring that democracies stand up to authoritarian regimes.
Biden and the White House have previously announced that he intends to run for re-election in 2024 and re-nominate Kamala Harris as his deputy.
Biden, who will turn 81 on Election Day 2024, is currently the oldest person in US history to be elected President.
