Biden thanks Oman for helping to release American prisoners from Iran

According to Fars News Agency, US President Joe Biden thanked Oman on Tuesday for playing a role in helping to free Americans detained in Iran.

The White House announced in a statement that Biden and the King of Oman in a phone call mentioned the historical relations between the two countries and emphasized the efforts of the two countries to create a peaceful and integrated region.

In this statement, Biden thanked Oman for the country’s “historic role” in helping to free the prisoners detained in Iran.

“Stefan Dujarric”, the spokesman of the United Nations, announced in October of this year that “Baqir Namazi” was released from prison and left Iran, and Siamak Namazi was also released (but is still in Iran).

The United Nations account also announced that “Antonio Guterres”, the Secretary General of the United Nations, is grateful that after asking the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the release of Baqer Namazi, he was allowed to leave Iran for treatment.

A few years ago, Siamak and Baqer Namazi were sentenced to 10 years in prison each for espionage and cooperation with the American government.
