Bimah Cooperative Karate, Champion of Asian Tournaments
According to the financial news, citing the public relations of Cooperative Insurance, the 19th edition of the Asian Championship 2023 started in Malacca, Malaysia, and 3 karatekas of Insurance Cooperative succeeded in winning and getting medals in the individual committee competitions and 2 karatekas in the team committee competitions.
Based on this, Behnam Dehghanzadeh, the 55-weight karate representative of our country, reached the finals of the Asian Karate Championship with three victories, and in the final match, he defeated Omar Shakra from Jordan with a score of 6:4 and became the lightweight champion of Asia.
In his first match, Behnam Dehghanzadeh defeated Erzov Sweet Glyph from Turkmenistan with a score of 5:2, and in his second match, he defeated the representative of Sri Lanka with a score of 8:0 to reach the semi-finals.
Bimah Cooperative Karate Kai won against the host representative (Malaysia) in the semi-final match with a score of 14:5 and went to the finals of the Asian Championship with authority.
Asian runner-up by Bahman Askari
Bahman Asgari, representing our country’s 75-weight karate, became the finalist of the Asian Championship with three victories, and in the final match, he lost to Nurkanat Azhikhano from Kazakhstan with a score of 3:2, and became the runner-up of the Asian Championship.
In its first match, Karate Kai defeated Nazim Nurlanov from Kyrgyzstan with a score of 2-1, and in its second match, it won with a score of 3-0 against Kunchbek Makhmedev from Uzbekistan.
75-weight representative of our country’s men defeated Sultan Al-Zahrani from Arabstat in the semi-final match with a score of 3-2 and became the finalist of this tournament with authority.
Bronze medal, on the neck of Sajjad Ganjzadeh
On the other hand, Sajjad Ganjzadeh, the 84+ karate representative of our country won the bronze medal of the Asian Karate Championship in 2023 with four wins and one loss.
Sajjad Ganjzadeh won his first match with a score of 9-0 against Keith Love from Macau and won his second match with a score of 10-1.
In his third match, Karate Kai Bimah Cooperative was against Tariq Hamdi from Saudi Arabia, and while they were equal 6:6, he gave up the result with the senshu rule (first point) and went to the chance table again.
Ganjzadeh defeated Srilanket’s Rashimika Hames with a score of 9-1 in the table of chances, and in the ranking match, he succeeded in defeating Suleiman Al-Mulla from the UAE with a score of 5-0 and became the owner of the bronze medal of the 2023 Asian Championship.

Finally, the men’s team committee of our country, who entered the tatami as the defending champion of this competition, with the role of Saleh Abazari and Mehdi Khodabakhshi, the two Karate Kai of Bimah Cooperative, succeeded to win the championship title by winning against the Kazakhstan team in the final of this competition.
Accordingly, in the first match, the Iranian team faced the Saudi team, and Saleh Abazari won the first match 3-1. Also, in the third competition, Mehdi Khodabakhshi went to the tatami and managed to win with a score of 3-1. The Iraqi team also accepted the defeat with the authority of our country’s national team as another opponent of Iran.
In the semi-final match against the Jordanian team, it was a tough competition. Mehdi Khodabakhshi lost the first match to Mohammad Al-Jaafari from Jordan with a score of 10-3, and Saleh Abazari lost the team’s second match with a score of 2-0.
But in the end, in the final match and in the first match, Saleh Abazari reached Pebruzi 2-1, in the second match, Mehdi Khodabakhshi achieved a 0-0 draw, so that by winning against the Kazakhstan team, the gold medal for the proud winners of Cooperative Insurance in Asia can be obtained.
