Bitcoin is literally going to the moon in less than three weeks. In fact, the astronauts of the “Vulcan Centaurus” rocket, which was launched a few hours ago, have a mission to take a digital currency wallet containing one bitcoin to the moon.

Bitmax noted that this bitcoin wallet will have a public address so that people can send some bitcoins to it if they want and see it returned when someone receives the wallet. This exchange wrote:

This bitcoin will be a cargo registered in the Peregrine-1 manifest and will remain on the surface of the moon until any person goes to pick it up.

Astronauts and this bitcoin piece will be carried by the Peregrin-1 spacecraft belonging to the robotics company “Astrobotic Technology” after being separated from the rocket. If everything goes according to plan, this spacecraft will land on the moon on February 23 (March 4).

Named after one of the fastest animals on Earth, Peregrine 1 is the first US lunar landing mission since the Apollo program, which landed the first humans on the moon in the 1970s.
